Buildings that have seen better days fascinate me, particularly when they have that whole Marie Celeste abandonment thing going for them. In a couple of the buildings pictured here, there were still coffee cups on desks, ragged clothes hanging in lockers and some soap in what was left of the bathroom....I half expected to find a skeleton round the next corner!
When I photograph a scene in these buildings I really want the viewer to get the feel of decay and loneliness, and how the building has been left for whatever reason, abandoned through no fault of it's own. If it's possible to empathise with a building's loneliness and sadness, then this is how I want you to feel.
